This picture is a good example of how important the right materials are. I managed to salvage it to a certain degree but the picture frame did not withstand even the low baking temperature for a short period of time. I suspected this would happen but gave it a try anyway. As the frame warped in the oven, there was some breakage of some flowers and leaves. In the future I will only use wood glass and possibly metal for applying clay.

Stella and Sleeman part 2

I decided to try a mosaic style picture this time in combination with the blended colours. I was also running low in colours available and would have preferred a different colour combination, but overall I am quite happy with it. Thinking about doing some other mosaic style pictures in the future

Mystic Flowers

Materials: Premo sculpey, wood frame with glass center, metalic glaze, sculpey super glue (this came in very handy as it really made binding the clay to the wood so much easier. Just don't get it on your hands)

This was really fun to make, it entailed blending the colours together via pasta roller. The sculpey super glue added greatly to the overall quality of this picure as I could bind the flowers and leaves on the picture without having to press them down. This maintains the groves in the leaves and the original shape of the objects. Important to note that the glue will stick to your skin just as well as it will the clay. I was not able to get it off afterwards.

Vase with dancing woman

For this vase I used sculpey III and a glass vase. The pictures were done using cane work. The sculpey III tends to crack when baked onto other surfaces so I’ve changed to premo sculpey for this type of work.

Mini Dick

I made this miniature of my dad for his birthday. It turned out great!! I used premo sculpey, tinfoil and metal wire. This was soo much fun.

Amazon mask

This picture is made out of premo sculpey clay, silver metalic dust and a wooden picture frame. I made it for my mom as a birthday present. I also used stamps and molds.

Stella and Sleeman

This is a sculpey picture of two cats named Stella and Sleeman. I made this while cruising the beautiful coast line of Mexico with my family in a sailboat. I used premo sculpey and ultra light sculpey. They seem to mix well together. I really enjoyed doing the cane work for this piece.

Raspberry Barvarian Cake

I love this cake!! It was really fun, time-consuming and tricky but in the end it is all worth it. This was the second time I made it for a friend’s birthday so it went a lot more smoothly this time.

Sculpey Martini Glass

I made these martini glasses for my parents as Christmas presents, they turned out very well. I had excellent results with the premo sculpey as opposed to the sculpey III as they have not cracked. I also found that baking times differ when baking on glass surfaces. I only baked these for 8mins at the given temperature. I believe that the temperature of the glass during the baking process somehow lends to overbaking of the clay. The two top and two bottom pictures are of the same martini glass.
